March 12-Jacqueline Berting glass sculpture

This panel is from an installation of 200 similar glass panels located in the food court of the Dr. William Riddell Centre at the University of Regina.

Every time I have to study for a mid-term or final exam, I make sure I sit beside this glass panel of a bird on a tree branch and a dragonfly in the lower right-hand corner. It is breathtakingly beautiful. There are no other words to describe it.

Jacqueline Berting was born in St. Gregory, Saskatchewan and now lives in Cupar. She is famous for her custom installations (like this one), her paperweights (I own one), and her glass wheat stalks and wheatfields (which I hope to own one day). You can view and purchase her work by visiting the Berting Glass website.
