To those who live in Regina or have in the past...the title says it all. You know spring has truly arrived when the Milky Way Ice Cream Spot re-opens for the upcoming season.
I realized the Milky Way opened when I was driving home from work Saturday night. (It might have opened earlier this week; I just noticed it last night.
This was the line up at around 7 p.m. (It was about 6C+ outside.) Anyone for a scoop of Tiger and chocolate peppermint ice cream?

The Milky Way is overrated. I would suggest Swirls in Medicine Hat has better soft serve.
ReplyDeleteI have fond memories of this place. I grew up less than a block from the Milky Way, and was treated to their awesome cones once a week. We ate the ice cream down to the cone, and gave our german sheppard the rest. Boy that was one spoiled dog.
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend everyone visiting Regina to stop by the Milky Way for a small or medium cone. You would be hard pressed to eat a large one... they are very thick and rich.

ReplyDeleteWorked there as a teenager in the late 70's when my family owned it. My favourite was using the milk shake blender to blend soft vanilla ice cream with 7-Up, not too thick or too thin. Great flavour to wash down salt n vinegar chips.
