For the past several years, the Regina Food Bank raises awareness and food donations by holding Canstruction displays at local malls. This year's Canstruction displays will be at the Northgate Mall and Cornwall Centre for the next week or so.
What is Canstruction?
Local building companies use cans of food - soups, tuna fish, vegetables - to create sculptures. They started building them today at the Cornwall Centre main courtyard; this photo is of a team constructing an inukshuk like the one used at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
Mall patrons vote on which sculpture they like best, with the winner announced at the end of the event.
